Here are five ‘teaching media making’ lesson structures designed to engage learners in exploring iterative design, designing their message for an audience, exploring the truth and truthiness of content, and engaging with new or unfamiliar ideas.
These structures lend themselves to teaching all forms of media, be it internet radio, video, audio or content written on blogs or twitter. They were originally written to accompany an AATE 2015 presentation given in Atlanta.
The structures include:
- Learn something new
- Make something fake
- Remix something
- Book meets movie, the end
- Make something for two different audiences
